I am writing to express my support for Sen. Jerry Moran. It has been my privilege to have interacted extensively with Moran and his team over the years, both during his tenure in the House of Representatives and now in the Senate. I have engaged with the senator on a range of issues important to Topeka and her business community. I have always been able to count on Moran and his office to give us an informed audience and to move the conversation promptly into an exploration of what he could do to help.

We have been particularly grateful for Moran’s leadership on issues such as federal funding for the Willard Bridge and his continued push, alongside Sen. Pat Roberts and Congresswoman Lynn Jenkins, for continued funding of levee repairs and enhancements in downtown Topeka. Perhaps the thing I have most appreciated about Moran is that he does not respond to serious questions with prefabricated answers.

In an age when so many politicians stake out claims based solely on ideology, Moran remains thoughtful and principled in his responses to specific issues. The intelligence and thoughtfulness with which he grapples with the many complex questions facing a U.S. senator are a clear reflection of the caliber of his intellect and the quality of his character.
